but the men of the armie which Amaziah had turned backe and wold not let go with his people to battell, ranne vpon the cities of Iuda from Samaria vnto Bethhoron and slue thre thousande of them and wanne moche spoyle.


He sente oute hys arrowes and scattered them, he cast sore lyghtenynges, and destroied them.


For they gat not the lande in possessyon thorowe their owne swearde, neyther was it their owne arme that helped them. But thy ryght hande, thyne arme and the lyght of thy countenaunce, because thou haddest a fauoure vnto them.

He dyd cast out the Heathen before them, caused their lande to be deuyded among them for an heritage, and made the trybes of Israel to dwell in their tentes.


For the Lorde shall steppe forthe as he dyd vpon the mounte Perazim, and shall take on as he dyd vpon the dale of Gabaon: that he maye bryng forthe his deuyce his straunge deuyce: and fulfyll hys worcke, hys wonderful worcke.


The Lorde also shall set vp the power of his voyce, and declare his terryble arme, wyth hys angry countenaunce yea and the flamme of the consumynge fyre, with earthquake, tempest of wynde, and haile stones.


what tyme as the kinge of Babylons hoste beseged Ierusalem, and the remnaunt of the cytyes: Namely, Lachis, and Azecah, whiche yet remayned of the stronge defensed cities of Iuda.


After that shal the lord go forthe to fyght agaynste those heathen, as men vse to fight in the daye of batell.


And the Lorde thy God shal deliuer them vnto the and styrre vp a myghty tempest among them, vntyll they be brought to nought.


And as they flede from Israel, euen in the goynge doune to Bethoron, the Lorde caste doune great stones from heauen vpon them vntyll they came vnto Esaka, that they dyed. And there were mo that dyed wyth hayle stones, then the chyldren of Israell slewe wyth the swerde.


And that same day Iosua toke Makeda & smote hyt wyth the edge of the swerde, and the Kinge therof also, and vtterlye destroyed them and all the soules that were therin, and let nought remayne. And he dyd to the King of Makeda, as he dyd to the Kyng of Iericho.


And Iosua came vnto them sodenlye, and iourneyed from Galgal all nyghte.


And the Lorde delyuered them into the handes of Israel, and they smote them and chased them, vnto great Sydon, and vnto the whote waters, and vnto the valey of Mazphah Eastward? and smote them vntyll they had none remaynynge of them.

Gaderoth, Bethdagon, Maamah and Makedah: Syxtene cytyes with their villages.


and goeth doune westwarde, euen to the coastes of Iaphlethi, & vnto the coastes of Bethhoron the nether, & so to Gasor, & the endes of their coastes came to the sea.


An the children of Ephraim toke their coastes by kynredes. And the coastes of their enheritaunce Eastwarde were, Ataroth Ador, euen vnto Bethhoron the vpper,


and Kabzaim wyth her Suburbes, Bethhoron wyth her Suburbes, foure cytyes.


But the Lorde trounsed Sisara and al his charettes and all hys hoste wyth the edge of the swerde, before Barak. And Sisara lyghted doune of hys charet and fled afore.


But Barak folowed after the charettes and after the hoste euen vnto Haroseth of the Gentiles. And all the hoste of Sisara fell vpon the edge of the swerde, that there was not a man lefte.


From heauen came battell: for the sterres beynge in theyr course, fought agaynst Sisara.


And another companye turned the way to Bethoron. And the thyrd company turned to the waye of the cost that turneth to the valeye of Zeboim toward the wildernesse.


The Philistines gathered theyr hoste to battel, and came together to Socoh in Iuda, and pitched betwene Socoh and Azekah, in the ende of Domim.
