6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phin´ehas the son of Ele-a´zar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.

6 And Moses sent them to the war, 1,000 from each tribe, together with Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, with the [sacred] vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets to blow the alarm in his hand.

6 Moses sent them to battle, one thousand from each tribe, along with Phinehas, Eleazar the priest’s son, who carried the sanctuary equipment and the trumpets for sounding the alarm in his hand.
And Uri´ah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Jo´ab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.
And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manas´seh, into the land of Gil´e-ad, Phin´ehas the son of Ele-a´zar the priest,
And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phin´ehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.
