to take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.


For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.


And when Ga´al saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou seest the shadow of the mountains as if they were men.


Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abim´elech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.
