And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeru-i´ah? so let him curse, because the Lord hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?


and said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.


Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.


If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?


But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? And what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.


Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.


When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? And when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:


Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?


Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?


Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?


O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.


And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.


and all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?


Even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.


Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?


For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counselor?


In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
