Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.


As the Lord thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not.


for it was so, when Jez´ebel cut off the prophets of the Lord, that Obadi´ah took a hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)


Wherefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against Amazi´ah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?


When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.


Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.


But the king commanded Jerah´meel the son of Ham´melech, and Serai´ah the son of Az´ri-el, and Shelemi´ah the son of Ab´deel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the Lord hid them.


Also Amazi´ah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:


The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence; for Herod will kill thee.


And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
