And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter-in-law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.


Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.


The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josi´ah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.


And the names of them were Aho´lah the elder, and Ahol´ibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aho´lah, and Jerusalem Ahol´ibah.
