The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the Lord shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.


Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spew, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.


Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:


Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;


and say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.


it is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.


Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:


Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.


For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
