He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.


If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.


and that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbor's wife,


hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord God.


E´phra-im provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.


Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbor, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.


Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.


Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barab´bas. Now Barab´bas was a robber.


Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
