And Eli´sha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the Lord hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.


And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.


But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.


Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?


say unto them which daub it with untempered mortar, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.


Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.


And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,


Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.


Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abim´elech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.
