Whosoever keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of gluttonous men shames his father.


Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is divorced: but they shall take maidens of the descendants of the house of Israel, or a widow of a priest.


A widow, or a divorced woman, or defiled, or a harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people as wife.


They shall not take a wife that is a harlot, or is defiled; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.


And did not he make them one? Yet had he the remnant of the spirit. And why one? That he might seek a godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.


There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zachariah, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.


And be not drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;


Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are idle, encourage the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all men.


Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,


Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.


For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision:
