Every man is senseless in his knowledge: every goldsmith is put to shame by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.


But they are altogether senseless and foolish: the wooden idol is a doctrine of vanities.


And I will sow her for myself in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them who were not my people, you are my people; and they shall say, you are my God.


But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.


I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.


If by any means I may provoke to envy them who are my flesh, and might save some of them.


To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.


Now this I say, that every one of you says, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.


What do I say then? that the idol is anything, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything?


What? have you not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise you the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.


You know that you were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as you were led.


Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.


But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remains, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;


They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.


For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.


Who in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
