5 And one of the elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like of it made in any kingdom.


And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and arm rests on each side of the seat, and two lions standing by the arm rests:


His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.


And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:


And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, who shall stand as an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his place of rest shall be glorious.


Thus says the LORD; Restrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears: for your work shall be rewarded, says the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.


I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.


He crouched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesses you, and cursed is he that curses you.


But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.


And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.


And all wept, and mourned her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeps.


And they said unto her, Woman, why weep you? She said unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.


Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made of the descendants of David according to the flesh;


And again, Isaiah says, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.


For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.


The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and revealed it by his angel unto his servant John:


I Jesus have sent my angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.


To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.


The four and twenty elders fall down before him that is sitting on the throne, and worship him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,


And round about the throne were four and twenty thrones: and upon the thrones I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white clothing; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.


And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the scroll, neither to look thereon.


And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four living creatures saying, Come and see.


And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, Who are these who are arrayed in white robes? and from where did they come?
