For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great army: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.


For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison thereof drinks up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.


He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.


Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;


The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.


They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man has his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.


My heart panted, fearfulness appalled me: the night of my pleasure has he turned into fear unto me.


When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame scorch you.


And he said unto them, Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.


But God said unto him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have prepared?


And this know, that if the owner of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have allowed his house to be broken through.


So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
