And he said, What have you done? the voice of your brother's blood cries unto me from the ground.


And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?


And you shall speak unto him, saying, Thus says the LORD, Have you killed, and also taken possession? And you shall speak unto him, saying, Thus says the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick your blood, even yours.


Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, says the LORD; and I will repay you in this plot, says the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plot of ground, according to the word of the LORD.


Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and repay it.


Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before you, that has come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.


Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up your hand: forget not the humble.


Their soul abhors all manner of food; and they draw near unto the gates of death.


Look upon me, and be merciful unto me, as you do unto those that love your name.


[Resh] Consider my affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget your law.


The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tested in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.


Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;


Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.


Consider my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.


O LORD, you have brought up my soul from the grave: you have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.


But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

For you have delivered my soul from death: will not you deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?


For great is your mercy toward me: and you have delivered my soul from the depths of sheol.


I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the rest of my years.


All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their treasures for food to relieve the soul: see, O LORD, and consider; for I have become despised.


Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembers not her latter end; therefore she came down awesomely: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy has magnified himself.


And there were set there six water pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.
