I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and laid my strength in the dust.


Many there be who say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.


Through you will we push down our enemies: through your name will we tread them under that rise up against us.


Nevertheless man being in honor abides not: he is like the beasts that perish.


Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.


I will send him against a godless nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.


I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in my anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.


O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake you shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.


You went forth for the salvation of your people, even for salvation with your anointed; you wounded the head out of the house of the wicked, by laying bare from the foundation to the neck. Selah.


And they shall be as mighty men, who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame.


And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, says the LORD of hosts.


Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of your robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and killed you not, know you and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against you; yet you hunt my soul to take it.


And you have shown this day how that you have dealt well with me: for when the LORD had delivered me into your hand, you killed me not.


And now, behold, I know well that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.
