The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, He that rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.


So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.


[To the Chief Musician, altaschith. A michtam of David, when he fled from Saul into the cave.] Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusts in you: yea, in the shadow of your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities have passed.


[To the Chief Musician, altaschith. A michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.] Deliver me from my enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.


Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in justice.


And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you.


Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,


When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:


And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
