In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread, till you return unto the ground; for out of it were you taken: for dust you are, and unto dust shall you return.


Remember, I beseech you, that you have made me as the clay; and will you bring me into dust again?


Why hide you your face, and hold me for your enemy?


When he gives quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hides his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:


His breath goes forth, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.


LORD, by your favor you have made my mountain to stand strong: you did hide your face, and I was troubled.


You turn man to destruction; and say, Return, you children of men.


Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.


Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things;


Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
