Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.


How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? and the scoffers delight in their scoffing, and fools hate knowledge?


Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.


Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility.


Judgments are prepared for scoffers and stripes for the back of fools.


The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scoffer is an abomination to men.


Surely he scorns the scornful: but he gives grace unto the lowly.


A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,


We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.


For the ruthless one is brought to nothing, and the scoffer is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:


We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceedingly proud) his loftiness, and his arrogance, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.


Yea also, because he transgresses by wine, he is a proud man, neither keeps at home, who enlarges his desire as sheol, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathers unto him all nations, and heaps unto him all people:


Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the region thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.
