Let the righteous strike me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be against their evil.


Whosoever loves instruction loves knowledge: but he that hates reproof is senseless.


Whosoever despises the word shall be destroyed: but he that fears the commandment shall be rewarded.


The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.


The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall go hungry.


A fool despises his father's instruction: but he that regards reproof is prudent.


Many will entreat the favor of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that gives gifts.


As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.


Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

See that you refuse not him that speaks. For if they escaped not who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from heaven:
