Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.


And Sarah died in Kiriatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.


And it came to pass after this, that David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Where shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.


And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.


And Ishbi-benob, who was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of bronze in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to slay David.


Marvelous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.


How he had worked his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan:

And to them who were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men were accustomed to roam.
