16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the region thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

And she spoke unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which you have brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:


Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.


And Hazael said, Why do you weep my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that you will do unto the children of Israel: their strongholds will you set on fire, and their young men will you slay with the sword, and will dash their children, and rip up their women with child.


I am as one mocked of his neighbor, who calls upon God, and he answers him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.


As a roaring lion, and a charging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.


A man that does violence to the blood of any person shall flee to a pit; let no man help him.


For, behold, the LORD comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her bloodshed, and shall no more cover her slain.


Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
