Who forsakes the companion of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God.


Yet you say, Why? Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously: yet is she your companion, and the wife of your covenant.


For the LORD, the God of Israel, says that he hates putting away: For one covers violence with his garment, says the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that you deal not treacherously.


And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh?


They said unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?


What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.


For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he lives; but if the husband dies, she is loosed from the law of her husband.


So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.


Let marriage be held in honor by all, and the bed undefiled: but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
