And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure you that you tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?


Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green cypress tree. In me is your fruit found.


And Simon Peter answered, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.


But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you be the Christ, the Son of God.


And when the tempter came to him, he said, If you are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.


And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God? have you come here to torment us before the time?


Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? are you come to destroy us? I know you, who you are, the Holy One of God.


But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?


And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, You are the Son of God.


But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped him,


For he had said unto him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.


He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:


Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with you, you Jesus of Nazareth? are you come to destroy us? I know who you are; the Holy One of God.


But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.


When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God most high? I beseech you, torment me not.


But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name.


The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, who show unto us the way of salvation.


Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon themselves to call over them who had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.


And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what does hinder me to be baptized?


And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.


Since then the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;


For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;


You believe that there is one God; you do well: the demons also believe, and tremble.


For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;


He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.


And the angels who kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.


Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil has come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.
