Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve descendants of our father.


And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he knew not when she lay down, nor when she arose.


And he went, and took, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savory food, such as his father loved.


Let destruction come upon him unawares; and let his net that he has hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.


A haughty look, a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.


Be not among winebibbers; among gluttonous eaters of meat:


For man also knows not his time: as the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.


But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up by wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.


Harlotry and wine and new wine take away the heart.


Do not drink wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations:


He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.


But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues you shall be beaten: and you shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.


And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.


And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things:


Be you therefore ready also: for the Son of man comes at an hour when you think not.


Take heed to yourselves: If your brother trespasses against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.


For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.


And he said, Take heed that you be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draws near: go not therefore after them.


And that which fell among thorns are they, who, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.


But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no not to eat.


Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.


Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, wrath, selfishness, divisions, heresies,


And it comes to pass, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:


Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.


Looking diligently lest any man fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;


But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.


Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.


Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore you will not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
