And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: this is that king Ahaz.


And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.


Why should you be stricken any more? you will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.


For the iniquity of his covetousness was I angry, and struck him: I hid myself, and was angry, and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.


O LORD, are not your eyes upon the truth? you have stricken them, but they have not grieved; you have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.


You also, who have judged your sisters, bear your own shame for your sins that you have committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than you: yea, be disgraced also, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters.


That you may remember, and be ashamed, and never open your mouth any more because of your shame, when I provide toward you an atonement for all that you have done, says the Lord GOD.


And I will cast abominable filth upon you, and make you vile, and will make you a spectacle.


Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as you have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.


Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and tear you.


And not many days later the younger son gathered everything together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.


And when he had spent everything, there arose a great famine in that land; and he began to be in want.


And he would gladly have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.


But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.


For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
