Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What have you done unto us? and how have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? you have done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.


Who can understand his errors? cleanse me from secret faults.


Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.


Permit not your mouth to cause your flesh to sin; neither say before the angel, that it was an error: why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?


And if a man eat of a holy thing unwittingly, then he shall add the fifth part of it unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.


And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,


And if the whole congregation of Israel sins through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;


When a ruler has sinned, and done something through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;


And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he does something against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;


Then you shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee there, who kills any person unintentionally.


And this is the case of the manslayer, who shall flee there, that he may live: Whoever kills his neighbor unintentionally, whom he hated not in time past;


Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and insolent: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.


Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are wayward; for he himself also is beset with weakness.


But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:


Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.


But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: therefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in a honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were brightened.
