And the LORD appeared unto him by the oaks of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;


And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,


And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.


And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.

For at that time day by day there came more to David to help him, until it was a great army, like the army of God.


And the LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into its sheath.


But David could not go before it to inquire of God: for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the LORD.


For my Angel shall go before you, and bring you in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.

And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into your hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valor.


And in the midst of the seven lampstands one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girded about the breast with a golden belt.


And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, are you the man that spoke unto the woman? And he said, I am.


And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
