He that passes by, and meddles with a quarrel not belonging to him, is like one that takes a dog by the ears.


A time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;


O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake you shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.


In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote opposite the lampstand upon the plaster of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.


They hate him that rebukes in the gate, and they abhor him that speaks uprightly.


Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.


Because all those men who have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put me to the test now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;


Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.


But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she cries after us.


The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and testing him desired that he would show them a sign from heaven.

And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, testing him.


And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tested him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?


And others, testing him, sought of him a sign from heaven.


And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.


Neither let us test Christ, as some of them also tested him, and were destroyed by serpents.
