Now because we receive support from the king’s palace, and it was not proper for us to see the king’s dishonor, therefore have we sent and informed the king;


But he said, you are idle, you are idle: therefore you say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.


And the number of the bricks, which they did make before, you shall lay upon them; you shall not diminish any of them: for they are idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.


Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?


But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him a hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe.


And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.


Sell what you have, and give alms; provide yourselves purses which grow not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.


Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet you lack one thing: sell all that you have, and distribute unto the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.


And why behold you the speck that is in your brother's eye, but perceive not the beam that is in your own eye?


Then said one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray him,


This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bore what was put therein.


For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of for the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.


Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
