As a servant earnestly desires the shadow, and as a hireling looks for the reward of his work:


Behold, you have made my days as a handbreadth; and my age is as nothing before you: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.


I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed wet with tears; I water my couch with my tears.


My eye is consumed because of grief; it grows old because of all my enemies.


I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and like grasping the wind.
