But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.


In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God with wrong.


So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spoke a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.

Let the day perish on which I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a male child conceived.


Therefore does Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplies words without knowledge.


Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke rashly with his lips.


Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent for interest, nor men have lent to me for interest; yet everyone of them does curse me.
