And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.


Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:


Why should you be stricken any more? you will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.


Turn unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.


The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?


Like keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she has been rebellious against me, says the LORD.


I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the law of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.


They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are bronze and iron; they are all corrupters.


And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.


They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.


Woe to her that is rebellious and defiled, to the oppressing city!


If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:


For I know your rebellion, and your stubbornness: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?


Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
