The meek will he guide in justice: and the meek will he teach his way.


In that day a man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made, each for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;


The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.


You shall defile also the covering of your graven images of silver, and the ornament of your molten images of gold: you shall cast them away as an unclean thing; you shall say unto them, Get away.


The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;


Cast away from you all your transgressions, by which you have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will you die, O house of Israel?


Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.


Seek you the LORD, all you meek of the earth, who have kept his commands; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be you shall be hidden in the day of the LORD'S anger.


Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.


It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.


Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words of eternal life.


Immediately therefore I sent to you; and you have done well that you are come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded you of God.


Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.


For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.


And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them partake of the root and fatness of the olive tree;


But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.


By which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain.


Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.


In whom you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,


That you put off concerning the former way of life the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;


Therefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.


Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not fitting: but rather giving of thanks.


For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.


For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when you received the word of God which you heard of us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually works also in you that believe.


For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,


Therefore seeing we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily ensnare us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,


How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;


For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.


Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.


Let him know, that he who converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.


Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto sincere love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently:


Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.


Therefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speaking,


Dearly beloved, I beseech you as aliens and exiles, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
