21 And they shall pass through it, hardpressed and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall be enraged, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no food for the people of the land.


And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; why should I wait for the LORD any longer?


But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.


His strength shall be hunger-bitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.


But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.


Then said his wife unto him, Do you still retain your integrity? curse God, and die.


You shall not revile God, nor curse the ruler of your people.


The foolishness of man perverts his way: and his heart frets against the LORD.


And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill your root with famine, and he shall slay your remnant.


These two things have come unto you; who shall be sorry for you? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort you?


Therefore is justice far from us, neither does righteousness overtake us: we wait for light, but behold darkness; for brightness, but we walk in gloom.


Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed:


And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall devour on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:


Manasseh shall devour Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.


If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.


And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.


And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name of the LORD, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)


And you shall cry out in that day because of your king which you shall have chosen; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.
