Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.


Go forth, O you daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, and on the day of the gladness of his heart.


And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.


And I will turn my hand upon you, and thoroughly purge away your dross, and take away all your alloy:


And the strong shall be as tinder, and the work of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.


By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit of taking away his sin; when he makes all the stones of the altar like chalkstones that are beaten to dust, the idol poles and incense altars shall not remain standing.


And for a spirit of justice to him that sits in judgment, and for strength to them that turn back the battle at the gate.


Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land burned, and the people shall be as the fuel for the fire: no man shall spare his brother.


For every warrior’s boot used in battle, and every garment rolled in blood; this shall be used for burning and as fuel for the fire.


Your habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, says the LORD.


Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembers not her latter end; therefore she came down awesomely: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy has magnified himself.


And I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you in the countries, and will consume your filthiness out of you.


Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.


I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the grain, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.


For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwells in Zion.


Woe to her that is rebellious and defiled, to the oppressing city!


In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.


And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them as gold is tested: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, They are my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.


For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.


O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you would not!
