And when he heard concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he has come out to fight against you: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,


Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings,


How excellent is your lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings.


[To the Chief Musician, altaschith. A michtam of David, when he fled from Saul into the cave.] Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusts in you: yea, in the shadow of your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities have passed.


I will abide in your tabernacle forever: I will trust in the shelter of your wings. Selah.


Because you have been my help, therefore in the shadow of your wings will I rejoice.


He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler.


Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and rely on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!


And he heard concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He has come forth to make war with you. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,


Thus says the LORD, The labor of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto you, and they shall be yours: they shall come after you; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto you, they shall make supplication unto you, saying, Surely God is in you; and there is none else, there is no other God.


In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the secure Ethiopians afraid, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, it comes.


You Ethiopians also, you shall be slain by my sword.


From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my worshipers, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring my offering.


O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you would not!


The LORD recompense your work, and a full reward be given you of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to trust.
