15 And I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as his wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.


Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.


[A song of ascents.] Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:


And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.


And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.


Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,


Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says the LORD; I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your betrothal, when you followed me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.


For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.


Will you not from this time cry unto me, My father, you are the guide of my youth?


For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.


This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.


And in all your abominations and your harlotries you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and were polluted in your blood.


Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish unto you an everlasting covenant.


Now when I passed by you, and looked upon you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over you, and covered your nakedness: yea, I swore unto you, and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord GOD, and you became mine.


Thus says the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.


And they shall dwell safely in it, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.


When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.


And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.


And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed feast.


Yet I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall know no god but me: for there is no savior besides me.


And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.


And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall rebuild the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink their wine; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.


Turn you to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope: even today do I declare that I will restore double unto you;


Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well; sing you unto it:


I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.


And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.


And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Therefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.


And the children of Israel remembered not the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side:
