Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast has devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.


And they sent the coat of many colors, and they brought it to their father; and said, This have we found: see now whether it be your son's coat or not.


And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in which you go, then shall you bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.


And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loves him.


And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since:


And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see your face: and, lo, God has showed me also your descendants.


And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcass was cast in the way, and the donkey stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcass.


And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tore forty and two of the youths.


The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well where he is going.


Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do you know not now; but you shall know hereafter.
