And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for a hundred pieces of money.


The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.


And his soul clung unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spoke kindly unto the damsel.


And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, You have troubled me to make me repulsive among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.

However he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.


I made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I think upon a maiden?


If my heart has been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbor’s door;


He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.


But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.


And it shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall let her go where she will; but you shall not sell her at all for money, you shall not make merchandise of her, because you have humiliated her.


Then you shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and you shall stone them with stones so that they die; the young woman, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he has violated his neighbor's wife: so you shall put away evil from among you.


Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the young woman's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he has violated her, he may not put her away all his days.


And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Perhaps you dwell among us; and how shall we make a covenant with you?


And Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines.


And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him?
