12 And he said, Lay not your hand upon the lad, neither do you anything unto him: for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from me.

And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.


And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.


And said, By myself have I sworn, says the LORD, for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son:


And he said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and get you into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.


Because Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.


And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God:


But the former governors that had been before me laid burdens upon the people, and had taken of them food and wine, besides forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bore rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.


There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one that feared God, and turned away from evil.


And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.


He shall deliver you in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch you.


For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.


The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures forever.


The LORD takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.


Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.


What man is he that fears the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.


The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.


And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God has come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that you sin not.


The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.


Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.


They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spoke it, neither came it into my mind:


And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.


But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up like calves of the stall.


Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.


And everyone that has forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.


Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.


For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.


Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, were multiplied.


But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.


He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?


There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.


For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what a man has, and not according to what he has not.


Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from which also he received him in a figure.


Therefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:


Yea, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.


And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great.


And Samuel said, has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
