And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.


And he said, Your name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince have you power with God and with men, and have prevailed.


And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray you, your name. And he said, Why is it that you do ask my name? And he blessed him there.


And God said unto him, Your name is Jacob: your name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be your name: and he called his name Israel.


And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.


You are the LORD, the God who did choose Abram, and brought him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gave him the name of Abraham;


And you shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay you, and call his servants by another name:


And it came to pass the next day, that Pashhur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD has not called your name Pashhur, but Magor-missabib.


In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name by which he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.


These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.

(As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead, and calls those things which are not as though they were.


He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows except him who receives it.
