Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.


And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldeans, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.


And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.


And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, and went their way.


And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.


And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.


If the scourge slays suddenly, he will laugh at the plight of the innocent.


And he spoke unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.


And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues.


As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
