And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.


You, even you, are LORD alone; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and you preserve them all; and the host of heaven worships you.


He has drawn a circle on the waters at the boundary where the day and night come together.


He stretches out the north over the empty place, and hangs the earth upon nothing.


Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters: who makes the clouds his chariot: who walks upon the wings of the wind:


He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap: he lays up the depth in storehouses.


The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.


All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from where the rivers come, there they return again.


Fear you not me? says the LORD: will you not tremble at my presence, who has placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though its waves toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?


And he said unto them, I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.


For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:


And swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that are therein, and the earth, and the things that are therein, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
