Then wrote Rehum the commander, and Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their companions; the judges, the governors , the officials, the Persians, the men of Erech, the Babylonians, the men of Susa, and the Elamites,


At the same time came to them Tattenai, governor on this side of the river, and Shethar-bozenai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who has commanded you to build this house, and to restore this wall?

Many seek the ruler's favor; but every man's judgment comes from the LORD.


Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What are you doing?
