What is man, that you should magnify him? and that you should set your heart upon him?


Trust not in oppression, and hope not vainly in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.


And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.


And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.


He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:


And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.


Bow down your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart unto my knowledge.


Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.


Happy is the man that is reverent always: but he that hardens his heart shall fall into calamity.


He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.


LORD, when your hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy of the people; yea, the fire of your enemies shall devour them.


And you said, I shall be a lady forever: so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the latter end of them.


Yet they were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.


O LORD, are not your eyes upon the truth? you have stricken them, but they have not grieved; you have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.


And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you; for to the intent that I might show them unto you are you brought here: declare all that you see to the house of Israel.


Behold you among the nations, and regard, and wonder and be astonished: for I will work a work in your days, which you will not believe, though it be told you.


If you will not hear, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, says the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart.


And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.


And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for you have borne a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.
