There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.


And they swore unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with horns.


Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.


Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.


And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD has spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.


Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying,


Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.


Now when I passed by you, and looked upon you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over you, and covered your nakedness: yea, I swore unto you, and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord GOD, and you became mine.


Have we not all one father? has not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?


And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, You men and brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.


And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.


I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.


And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.
