For it was the king’s commandment concerning them, that a certain portion should be for the singers, as required every day.


And gave them bread from heaven for their hunger, and brought forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promised them that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.


You gave also your good spirit to instruct them, and withheld not your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst.


The people asked, and he brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.


Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,


And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD showed him a tree, which when he had cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,


And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they knew not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.


Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food needful for me:


Give us this day our daily bread.


Give us day by day our daily bread.


And did all eat the same spiritual food;


Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers knew not, that he might humble you, and that he might test you, to do you good in the end;


And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or not.


And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
