Therefore you are great, O LORD God: for there is none like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.


[To the Chief Musician for the Sons of Korah, a maschil.] We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old.


How you did drive out the nations with your hand, and planted them; how you did afflict the people, and cast them out.


So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God who judges in the earth.


Now also when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed your strength unto this generation, and your power to every one that is to come.


Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.


And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What is this? that you shall say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:


And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten honor over Pharaoh, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.


And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will get glory over Pharaoh, and over all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.


Thus says the LORD, In this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, I will strike with the rod that is in my hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.


And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth my hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.


And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.


The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known your truth.


And I defiled them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.


For when I had brought them into the land, for I lifted up my hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet aroma, and poured out there their drink offerings.


Tell your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.


And, you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.


Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life: but teach them to your sons, and your sons' sons;
