For, lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.


But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as one dying.


He that speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.


Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.


My eyes fail for your salvation, and for the word of your righteousness.


My eyes fail for your word, saying, When will you comfort me?


I am weary from my crying: my throat is dried: my eyes fail while I wait for my God.


Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: my eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.


The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men have gone into captivity.


My eyes do fail with tears, my soul is troubled, my heart is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the infants faint in the streets of the city.


As for us, our eyes as yet failed, watching for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.


For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.


Also, you son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that upon which they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,


The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have you sold unto the Greeks, that you might remove them far from their border.


Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, says the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.


Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.


Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shall you go forth out of the city, and you shall dwell in the field, and you shall go even to Babylon; there shall you be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem you from the hand of your enemies.


Woe to you, Moab! you are undone, O people of Chemosh: he has given his sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the Amorites.


Cursed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your cattle, and the offspring of your sheep.


Your ox shall be slain before your eyes, and you shall not eat thereof: your donkey shall be violently taken away from before your face, and shall not be restored to you: your sheep shall be given unto your enemies, and you shall have none to rescue them.


You shall beget sons and daughters, but you shall not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.


And among these nations shall you find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest: but the LORD shall give you there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
