And if the people of the land bring in wares or any grain on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it from them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would forego the crops of the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.


Why have we fasted, they say, and you see not? why have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and exploit all your laborers.


And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.


And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?


At the end of every seven years you shall make a release.


Of a foreigner you may exact it again: but that which you lend to your brother your hand shall release;


And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,


For he shall have judgment without mercy, that has showed no mercy; and mercy triumphs over judgment.
